Pumpkin Penalty Old-Fashioned


  • 2 1/2 oz of bourbon
  • 2/3 oz pure REAL maple syrup
  • 1 tbs pumpkin purée
  • 1-2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Orange peel, cinnamon stick(s)


  1. In a cocktail shaker with ice, combine the bourbon, maple syrup, pumpkin purée, and bitters. Shake vigorously.
  2. Add ice to a rocks glass, then strain in the cocktail mixture.
  3. Squeeze the orange peel over the top of the cocktail to release the oils; then rub the orange peel around the rim of the glass.
  4. Garnish with orange peel and / or cinnamon stick(s).
